A QUESTÃO SOCIAL PELA LENTE DAS REBELIÕES E INSURGÊNCIAS SUBALTERNAS CONTRA O EXTRATIVISMO: QUANDO AS DESIGUALDADES SOCIAIS NÃO SÃO SILENCIOSAS

Abstract

Based on the understanding that the social struggles of subaltern classes are a part of the foundations of the social question, we seek to explore some of the theoretical and political consequences of that statement, especially with respect to conflicts and resistances that span the set of social inequities that become apparent in their self-organization processes. With a set of social struggles against extractivism in Brazil and Latin America as a reference, we propose analyzing some forms of the social question which derive from that particular capitalist accumulation and expropriation dynamics, the moments of social antagonism generated by those subjects, as well as their critical readings in the light of the forms of intervention and engagement carried out by the State. We understand these debates are important to social workers’ professional activity, as the collective and conflictive dimensions of the social question that configure daily demands, or the struggles of the subaltern classes themselves, still have little presence in our analysis and strategies.
