A POLÍTICA HABITACIONAL NO CONTEXTO DO CAPITALISMO PANDÊMICO NO BRASIL: EXPROPRIAÇÕES E LUTAS SOCIAIS

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the right to housing in the context of pandemic capitalism. In this sense, we seek to ampliation of expropriation processes, which represent the potentiation of a series of setbacks in the scope of guaranteeing the social and fundamental right to housing. We understand and start from the assumption that expropriation can be seen in the desfinancing of the housing policy, in massive removals and forced evictions. Such measures are fully consonant with the tendency of deepening the nefarious demands of capital, in the context of its structural crisis. We try to demonstrate from the analysis of data from the Observatory of Human Rights in Latin America, from the Program of Studies in Latin America and the Caribbean (PROEALC/UERJ), that the engendered barbarism would have been greater, were it not for the fights and resistances promoved by the movements in the countryside and in the city, which exposed this escalation contrary to human rights, which revealed in enlargment of social inequality that also impacted the housing and living conditions of a large portion of the brazilian population.
