Conceitos do liberalismo e educação. Indivíduo, propriedade e liberdade na educação brasileira

Este artigo analisa diferentes pensamentos relacionados à educação dentro do liberalismo. Além disso, discute como esta ideologia se fez presente na sociedade brasileira em seus primeiros momentos, no século XIX, abordando brevemente diferentes análises historiográficas. Entende-se aqui que a forma através da qual o liberalismo entra na sociedade brasileira, isto é, com um viés elitista, oligárquico e excludente, (em uma parte da classe dominante) está diretamente ligada à concepção de educação pública adotada historicamente pelo Estado brasileiro.

This article analyzes different ideas related to education in liberalism. Besides, it discusses how this ideology was present in Brazilian society in its first years, in the nineteenth century, briefly discussing varied historiographical analysis. I consider that the way in which liberalism (with an elitist, oligarchic and exclusionary bias) entered the Brazilian society (in some part of the upper class) is directly linked to the State’s historical public education conceptions.
