ESCOLA COMO UMA BASE PARA O POVO TOMAR O PODER? Diálogo entre Samora Machel e Paulo freire

Depois da Independência Nacional em 1975, uma das palavras de ordem de Samora Machel, primeiro Presidente da então República Popular de Moçambique, foi “fazer da escola uma base para o povo tomar o poder”. O presente artigo pretende ampliar a discussão dessa visão macheliana, dialogando com Paulo Freire (patrono da educação brasileira), pois, nas políticas públicas de educação moçambicana, notam-se vestígios de ideias freireanas que foram adotadas logo após a conquista da Independência Nacional. Encontramos em Machel e em Freire algumas aproximações e similitudes fundadas no comprometimento com o pensamento crítico da educação.
