Abstract

This research investigated the role of Principle B of Binding Theory in the parsing of sentences with the pronoun ‘he” preceded by an unavailable antecedent convergent or divergent concerning the gender, number and animacy features. An experiment of self-paced reading revealed an immediate action of principle B and a late influence of unavailable antecedents, with a combined action of the mentioned features.

Márcio Martins Leitão, UFPB

Possui graduação em Português-Literaturas pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1997), mestrado em Linguística pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2001) e doutorado em Linguística
pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2005). Atualmente é professor
adjunto da Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB) e coordena o LAPROL (Laboratório de Processamento Linguístico). Além disso, é coordenador do
GT de Psicolinguística da ANPOLL no biênio 2013-2014. Tem experiência na área de Linguística, com ênfase em Psicolinguística Experimental, atuando
principalmente nos seguintes temas: processamento da correferência, processamento anafórico e TDAH, processamento linguístico e patologias relacionadas à linguagem (afasia, alzheimer, gagueira), e processamento linguístico em aprendizes de L2.

Gitanna Brito Bezerra, UFPB

É graduada em Letras (habilitação em Língua Portuguesa) pela Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (2010). Mestre em Linguística pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Linguística / UFPB (2013) e doutoranda em Linguística nesse mesmo programa. Desenvolve estudos na área de Psicolinguística Experimental, focalizando o processamento de sentenças e a atuação do Princípio de Construal em português brasileiro.

Dorothy Bezerra Silva de Brito, UFRPE

Possui Licenciatura em Letras pela Universidade Federal de Alagoas (2004) e doutorado em Linguística pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras e Linguística da Universidade Federal de Alagoas (2009) com estágio sanduíche na Universidade de Cambridge, Inglaterra (2007-2008). Tem experiência na área de Linguística, com ênfase em Teoria e Análise Linguística, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: concordância, clíticos reflexivos, reflexivo, teoria de traços e gramática gerativa. Atualmente é professora adjunta I de Linguística na Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco - Unidade Acadêmica de Serra Talhada.
