Abstract

K: Relato de uma busca, by Bernardo Kucinski, presents the character K and his identity reconstruction after the disappearance of his daughter, Ana Rosa. This research aimed to find out how this process of (re)construction is fictionalized in Kucinski's work. For this, we read Mbembe (2014), and his primordial study on necropolitics, in addition to trauma studies and their reports, by authors such as Seligmann-Silva (2008) and Jeanne Marie Gagnebin (2013). After the loss of his daughter, the protagonist K begins to recall the moments that followed her disappearance, while reflecting on the facts with a post-loss perspective. He begins to question his previous identity, the habits he had and his own connection with Jewish culture. K seems unable to reconfigure a new identity that gives him comfort with the trauma, he says he feels haunted and the work, in this way, ends up constituting a compilation of the screams of this ghost of loss.
