Dealing with issues involving gender violence in contemporary times transcends the barriers of sexuality, as facing this issue, in addition to being challenging, requires those who work and research in the area, greater sensitivity and a better understanding of the assigned and assumed social roles. by man and woman. This article seeks to emphasize the need to (re)think the transversality of public policies to prevent gender violence in Brazil, from an educational, intersectional and interdisciplinary approach. In this context, this article will address the social conflicts that originate from gender relations and that explain the culturally constructed and apprehended differences in the way of being a man and being a woman. Then, we will analyze some concepts about public policies, as well as about the need for transversality of them, from a gender perspective. The methodology is exploratory, with a hypothetical deductive approach.
