The pandemic context has brought new challenges and perspectives to the school routine, in the face of changes already underway, however, accelerated in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. This article aims to reflect on the school space in times of a pandemic, analyzing the situation of remote teaching implemented in public schools in the State of São Paulo. The research was based on bibliographic and normative survey available on official platforms. In the second moment, it was based on information obtained through a questionnaire applied to teachers, managers and pedagogical staff of a state public school in the municipality of Dracena/SP. Data analysis and the proposed discussion demonstrate the difficulties of adapting to the need for social distancing, both for teachers and students, but also show some successful strategies put into practice to minimize the impacts on evasion and lag in teaching and learning.
