Abstract

From the reading of literary texts illuminated by the prospect of wandering - seen as "the world's appetite" (Glissant) - it comes to provide critical mapping of the fictional representation of identity paths in contemporary works of Quebec and Brazil. Assuming a privileged role in the selected corpus, learning the foreign language and translating activity define it as mobile places in essence and they suggest the possibility of desire for (being) elsewhere.

Maria Bernadette Porto, Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF)

Professora de Língua Francesa e Literaturas Francófonas na Universidade Federal Fluminense, onde coordena o Núcleo de Estudos Canadenses. É pesquisadora do CNPq e seu atual Projeto Integrado se intitula "Babel revisitada e a construção de uma poética das línguas nas Américas". Publicou artigos em anais de congresso e em revistas especializadas, capítulos de livros e organizou os livros Mulher e literatura. Trabalhos apresentados no VII Seminário Nacional (EDUFF, 1999, em colaboração com Lívia de Freitas Reis e Lucia Helena Vianna), Fronteiras, passagens, paisagens na literatura canadense (EDUFF, 2000) e Identidades em trânsito (EDUFF, 2004).
