BETWEEN DISPERSION AND ACCUMULATION: FOR A METHODOLOGY OF ANALYSIS OF SYNCRETIC TEXTS
Keywords:
semiotic analysis, sincretism, Beatriz Milhazes.Abstract
This essay presents a methodology for the semiotical analysis of syncretic texts. Using the theoretical apparatus of French semiotics, we first study several examples of how languages relate and interact. Then we define syncretic objects as such and close with the analysis of the catalog of Beatriz Milhazes' art show held in Rio de Janeiro, 2002.
