Abstract

I provide in this article, a panoramic view of aspects involving the main translations of the Bible into the Greek, Latin, English and German languages. After that, I deal with Franz Rosenzweig's thought on the translation of biblical texts, built on the undertaking of this task with Martin Buber. I also deal with some of the translation strategies he has used, which put him in tune with a translation practice that, in Germany, has been inaugurated by Hölderlin and undertaken by Goethe and Benjamin, among others, and that makes itself present in the post-structuralist translation theorization context.
