Variação e análise paramétrica: algumas possibilidades de estudos em línguas indígenas brasileiras
Keywords:
indigenous languages, linguistic variation, syntax, phonology, lexiconAbstract
Under the light of the formal theory of language, this paper investigates the necessity of resorting to the linguistic variation study to understand linguistic phenomena present in the target field of the Brazilían Indigenous Languages. The research framework in question is the Theory of PrincipIes and Parameters in its minimalist versions, and the investigation paths that are taken are those associated to certain Amazonian languages. While contemplating such research possibilities for these languages, the text aims at unveiling how the adoption of linguistic variation as a theoretical framework sheds light onto the study of the interfaces, syntax and lexicon.
