Dental agenesis is understood to be the absence of teeth. This condition presents a major problem when it comes to prosthetic rehabilitation, especially in pediatric patients. Implant dentistry has emerged as a treatment alternative, but with pre-established working limits. The main objective of this research is to investigate the possibilities, efficiency and feasibility of dental implants in pediatric patients with dental agenesis. We searched for scientific articles indexed in the following databases: google scholar, PubMed, Virtual Health Library (VTS) and Scielo, from 2013 to 2024. The following descriptors were used for this search: dental agenesis; implantology; oral rehabilitation; pediatrics. The inclusion criteria for this search were articles in English and Portuguese, and 19 papers were selected. The main exclusion criteria were articles published more than 11 years ago. Clinical and surgical planning is crucial to the success of rehabilitation in implant dentistry, especially when it comes to implant dentistry and pediatric dentistry, so there is no definitive consensus on its success. Regardless of the approach chosen, it is essential that the professional takes into account the patient's health, the condition affecting them, the patient's wishes and carefully performs and studies each examination. This personalized approach is fundamental to guaranteeing the best result and patient safety.
