Da arte pública à esfera pública política da arte

O texto tem como ponto de partida as transformações decorrentes da problematização e consequente politização da noção de “arte pública”. Predominante nos discursos interessados na relação entre arte e política a partir dos anos 1970, tal noção vai dando lugar pouco a pouco à expressão “arte e esfera pública”. A fim de investigar essa passagem,
torna-se necessário aprofundar a reflexão sobre o “público” e o “político”.
Para isso, recorremos a alguns pressupostos e posicionamentos que, embora tradicionalmente pertencentes ao campo mais específico da teoria política, são produtivos na hora de convocar o potencial político da arte. A discussão avança sobre as diversas possibilidades de entendimento do conceito de “esfera pública”, tendo como consequência suas implicações na arte atual.
