Abstract

A obra de Sherrie Levine constitui problema inédito na história da arte, bem como na história da fotografia, em geral, vista sob o registro do questionamento da autoria. O artigo critica sua obra, analisando-a como evento conceitualmente concebido, o que enfatiza outros tipos de estratégias em seu trabalho e uma visada diferente em relação à história da arte e ao próprio conceito de fotografia.

Author Biography

Cezar Bartholomeu

Cezar Bartholomeu é artista plástico, professor adjunto da escola de Belas Artes da UFRJ no setor de teoria da imagem, editor da revista do programa de pós-graduação da EBA Arte & Ensaios. Como artista, participou de exposições como Artefoto, no CCBB RJ, O corpo na arte brasileira contemporânea, no Itaú Cultural SP, Brasilien – Entdeckung und selbstenddeckung, em Stuttgart, Alemanha, Parfum brûlé, na Galeria da ENSP, em Arles, França. Como pesquisador, possui trabalhos publicados em Artefoto (catálogo da exposição CCBB) e Câmaras de Luz (catálogo Oi Futuro), entre outros, nos quais lida com a relação entre fotografia e arte.
