Abstract

The artistic intervention Júlio Manso’s Manifesto Quieto took place in an abandoned quarry in the city of Curitiba in 1992. It brought as discussions: rethinking the impact of urban policies, denouncing the abandonment of urban spaces, conducting a survey of the memories of its occupation and propose an artistic action with the locals and interested people. The present research seeks to reflect on the set of intervention actions and configuring them as critical and poetic strategies and affirming their relevance in the narratives of contemporary Brazilian art.

Paulo Reis, Universidade Federal do Paraná, Brasil

Paulo Roberto de Oliveira Reis possui graduação em Licenciatura em Artes Plásticas pela Faculdade de Artes do Paraná (1985), mestrado em História Social da Cultura pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (1998), doutorado em História pela Universidade Federal do Paraná (2004) e estágio sênior no Departamento de História da Arte na Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2016). Atualmente é professor associado do Departamento de Artes da Universidade Federal do Paraná. Tem experiência na área de Artes, com ênfase em História da Arte Brasileira, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: curadoria, arte contemporânea, história da arte e crítica.
