Social Evolution in Organizations: A study about the influence of body modifications (Tattoos) and gender on recruitment evaluations
Abstract
The study conducted, through experimental research and statistical analysis, whether, during the recruitment and selection processes in organizations, the presence of visible tattoos, in men or women could result in unfair evaluation (discrimination) of the candidates' competence. The study implications demonstrated a change in the social behavior of organizations, including contradicting previous studies. The results showed that candidates with some visible tattoos compared to those without tattoos or with excessive tattoos. The results also demonstrated that the candidate's gender did not influence significantly recruiters' decisions.
