THE INFANT BODY AS PROFUSION OF THE SENSITIVE IN THE "LEAD YEARS" OF BRAZIL

ANALYSIS OF THE FILMIC WORK O ANO EM QUE MEUS PAIS SAÍRAM DE FÉRIAS FROM CAO HAMBURGER

Abstract

The purpose of this study, when analyzing the film O ano em que meus pais saíram de férias from director Cao Hamburger, was to understand the subtlety and sensitivity of a cinematographic work that addresses such a dramatic moment in Brazilian history, the period of the military dictatorship, using the eyes of a child who suffers from the longing of parents and, at the same time, goes through unique experiences in their physical and emotional development. In this context, it was possible to realize that the childish gaze, gestures and body language of a 12 years old boy were fundamental elements in the construction of the film, especially in the choice of poetic procedures-aesthetic that softened the historical tensions of the period lived by the narrative. Thus, we chose David Le Breton (2016; 2019) as the theoretical reference of this article due to his studies concerning the anthropology of emotions and senses, which says of the movements of things and the sensations of oneself in a theoretical construction that states that the human condition is bodily, that is, that the body is the profusion of the sensitive. Thus, the experiences and experiences of Mauro, the protagonist child of the film in question, were perceived from his individual sensibility, which, beforehand, brings the traces of his personal history and his social belonging when he comes across the new, the unknown.
