Abstract

Este artigo discute as diretrizes da Unesco para a formação e avaliação deprofessores expressas no Projeto Estratégico Regional sobre docentes para aAmérica Latina e Caribe. Debatemos a centralidade conferida à questão docente eas reformas sugeridas em nome da qualidade. A análise documental permitiuverificar as críticas dos especialistas sobre a formação docente, programas e cursos,instituições e sistema de avaliação para justificar a implantação de estándares naeducação. Problematizamos as contradições dessas orientações políticas,discutindo as consequências de sua implantação para o gerenciamento deprofessores.

This paper discusses the Unesco guidelines for teacher’s training and assessmentpresented in the Strategic Project on Teachers for Latin America and the Caribbean.We focus upon the centrality of the teacher issue and the reforms recommended inname of quality of education. The document analysis has evidenced the expertscriticisms on teacher’s training, programs and courses, systems of evaluations inorder to justify the implementation of standards in education. We identify somecontradictions on those policy orientations and discuss the consequences of theirimplementation on teachers’ management.
