Este texto reflete sobre o cenário de desigualdades e oportunidades na conjuntura atual do ensino superior brasileiro, com base nas teorias da estratificação educacional. A análise focaliza no papel das universidades públicas, principal referência de qualidade no nível de ensino superior do sistema educacional. Questiona os efeitos prováveis das reformas e da crise socioeconômica sobre as hierarquias institucionais e as desigualdades.
