knowledge, practices and reflections on the curricularization of outreach at Instituto Federal do Paraná (IFPR)

Abstract

The Sustainable Territorial Development Observatory (STDO) is an extension action of the IFPR campus Colombo, which brings together teachers, students (among them, five scholarship holders) and collaborators with the objective of developing actions integrated with the demands of rural and urban communities, their civil so­cial organizations and their territorialities, aiming at monitoring and social control of the elaboration, execution and improvement of public policies in the munici­pality. Its theoretical-methodological reference is focused on Sustainable Territorial Development (STD), based on authors from Political Geography, Cultural Geogra­phy, Health Geography and Environmental Geography, with the collaboration of other areas of study such as Administration, Information Technology, Public Man­agement, Human Rights, Urban Planning, Public Health, Agroecology, Food Secu­rity and Family Farming, among others.This report systematizes the stages of this extension experience, covering its planning and implementation with the campus academic community, which mobilizes to assist in local community arrangements that aim to strengthen sustainable development policies. Thus, the Observatory's implementation program is guided by bibliographical research, creation of a data­base of current public policies integrated with the IDHM (Health - Income - Edu­cation) and the areas of environment, agroecology and solidarity economy. Some of the most significant actions of STDO are: mapping social organizations, their demands, spaces for participation and social control of public policies; the develop­ment of initial and continuing training courses aimed at representing communities and civil organizations; prospect with the community, public and private sector demands for continued training, generation of solutions and innovations in gov­ernance and execution of public policies in the Observatory's areas of activity, in line with the extension's curricularization policy, with the technological axes and courses offered at the IFPR campus Colombo.
