Over the years, the significant growth of the elderly population has been evident, especially in developed countries. In Brazil, the increase of the population segment of people aged 80 and over has brought with it a series of health-related consequences, due to functional deficits resulting from the decreased physical fitness observed in this age group. This study was characterized as a descriptive research, with a quantitative and cross-sectional approach. The participants of this study were older elderly individuals of both sexes enrolled in the extension program Idoso Feliz Participa Sempre (PIFPS), developed by the School of Physical Education and Physiotherapy (FEFF) of the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM), with the purpose of having their anthropometric profile analyzed in this study. The participants underwent anthropometric assessments, aiming to collect data regarding waist, hip, and calf circumference, body mass, height, and fat percentage. The collected data were tabulated and stored in an Excel spreadsheet. The sample consisted of nine older elder men and 20 older elder women. The following results were found: WHR for men 0.99, and WHR for women 0.86; Calf Circumference for men 33.51cm, Calf Circumference for women 34.01cm; BMI for men 32.11kg/m2, BMI for women 25.97kg/m2; and %Fat for men 56.91%, and %Fat for women 37.11%. The results presented in this study highlight the importance of monitoring body composition in older elderly individuals, and of implementing public health strategies to reduce excessive body fat and improve quality of life.
