Abstract

The present review presents the book Aqui nós somos uma família: brigas e acordos no tribunal do júri (Here we are a family: fights and agreements in the jury court), written by anthropologist Izabel Nuñez. Based on a detailed ethnography carried out in a jury court in the district of Rio de Janeiro, the author presents not only the physical space of the courtroom and the characters who work and circulate in it, but also dense reflections on the relationships established there and the different types of trials that take place there.
