The present article analyzes, in a phenomenological perspective, the spacial structure of the Grotão farm, built by Cornélio Penna in his latest novel A menina morta. When we apply the topanalytical concept from the phenomenologist Gaston Bachelard (1957), we aim to demonstrate how the atmosphere of the scene acts directly in the narrative, reinforcing the sense of discomfort by sound images.
