Abstract

This paper intends to describe uses of the verb ‘esperar” in the Portuguese language, by assuming the hypothesis that the new grammaticalized uses would reveal an increasing way of (inter)subjectification. And it also assumes that this process would be related to the emergence of possible constructional patterns. In order to prove these hypotheses, we also accomplished a synchronic and diachronic survey that tried to demonstrate which uses would be earlier and [- (inter)subjective].

Nathália Felix de Oliveira, UFJF

Doutoranda em Linguística pela Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora e mestre em Linguística (2012) pela mesma instituição. Possui especialização em ensino de língua portuguesa (2009) e graduação em Letras (2008), ambas pela Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora. Já atuou na área da Sociolinguística Variacionista e Educacional e realizou pesquisas sobre processamento da escrita e letramento, focalizando o trabalho com gêneros textuais e sequencia didática. Atualmente, dedica-se a pesquisa em Funcionalismo e Gramaticalização.

Patrícia Fabiane Amaral da Cunha Lacerda, UFJF

Pós-doutora em Linguística pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2009), doutora em Linguística pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2007), mestre em Linguística pela Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (2003) e graduada em Letras pela Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (2002). Professora adjunta da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora, atuando na graduação e no Programa de Pós-graduação em Linguística. Tem experiência na área de Linguística e desenvolve pesquisas em Funcionalismo, Gramaticalização, Sociolinguística Variacionista e Estudos da Tradução.
