Abstract

This article highlights the reality of the Franco-Brazilian boundaries, permeated by its historical and social aspects, and the study of the contact. Starting from the concept of contact and from the phenomena that it makes emerge, we have constructed a historical, socio-cultural and linguistic framework of the Brazilian border with French Guiana and of the results of such contact on the inhabitants daily life. Finally, we discuss issues concerning educational language policies in vogue at the region.

Kelly Cristina Nascimento Day, UFF

Professora de língua francesa do Centro Estadual de Língua e Cultura Francesa Danielle Mitterrand no Amapá. Graduou-se em Letras (Português-Frances) pela Universidade Federal do Pará, fez especialização em tradução português-francês na Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – UERJ, mestrado em Estudos da Linguagem pela PUC-RJ e atualmente é doutoranda na Universidade Federal Fluminense-UFF. Atuou como professora de Língua Francesa e Metodologia de ensino de Frances Língua Estrangeira (FLE) na Universidade Federal do Amapá – UNIFAP – entre 2000 e 2003, na Faculdade de Macapá no período de 2005 a 2010 e na Universidade do Estado do Amapá – UEAP – de 2009 a 2011. Atua na linha de pesquisa em sociolinguística, política linguística e ensino de línguas estrangeiras.
