Abstract

Despite the many advances in mother tongue teaching in Brazil in the last years, the importane of linguistic knowledge in Portuguese textbooks is still linked to a pedagogy of uncritical transmission of traditional normative prescriptions. From the analysis of 24 collections of that sort of book, it became evidente the hipernormativism of such works, more written than the normative tradition itself.

Marcos Bagno, UnB

Graduado em Letras (Bacharelado em Língua Portuguesa) pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (1991), mestrado em Linguística pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (1995) e doutorado em Filologia e Língua Portuguesa pela Universidade de São Paulo (2000). É professor-adjunto do departamento de Línguas Estrangeiras e Tradução da Universidade de Brasília (UnB), atuando na área de Tradução Frances/Português. Tem experiência na área de Linguística, com ênfase em Tradução, Sociolinguística e ensino, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: prática de tradução francês/português, ensino de português, sociologia da linguagem, antropologia linguística, literatura infantil, gramática tradicional e português brasileiro.
