Abstract

It is analyzed how linguistic diversity is dealt with in a Portuguese textbook, where two chapters are designated to it. In these, it is pointed out that speaker ethnic origin can be manifested differently by: morphological changes; use of foreign expressions; accent in oral language. In synthesis, the linguistic diversity is dealt with through activities of identification and reproduction of linguistic varieties to be carried out by the students.

Paula Gaida Winch, IFRS

Professora de Português/Inglês do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS) – Campus Ibirubá. Doutoranda do Programa de Pós-graduação em Letras - Estudos Linguísticos da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM/RS), Mestre em Educação pelo Programa de Pós-graduação em Educação da UFSM; Licenciada em Letras Português/Inglês pela mesma instituição. Tem experiência na área de Ensino e Educação, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: ensino de língua materna, oralidade, livros didáticos e metodologia científica em trabalhos acadêmicos.
