Abstract

This study proposes a theoretical reflection on the epic invocation, feature traditionally present in the epics. Using epic works of different eras and origins, which not only corroborate the use of the epic invocation but also demonstrate that the epic genre is still current, it is detailed herein categories from which such epic feature can be understood.

Christina Ramalho, UFS

Professora adjunta de Estágio e Literaturas de Língua Portuguesa da Universidade Federal do Sergipe, doutora em Ciência da Literatura pela UFRJ (2004). De 2010 a 2012, desenvolveu o projeto de pós-doutorado “A cabeça calva de Deus: o epos cabo-verdiano na poesia de Corsino Fortes”, junto a USP, com bolsa FAPESP. Atualmente, desenvolve a pesquisa “No meio do caminho tinha um poema: repensando as teorias e as práticas em torno dessa presença” e coordena a implantação, na UFS, do CIMEEP, Centro Internacional e Multidisciplinar de Estudos Épicos. Está vinculada ao mestrado profissionalizante, o PROFLETRAS da UFS/Itabaiana. É autora e organizadora de diversos livros de crítica literária, entre eles Elas escrevem o épico, Dois ensaios sobre poesia e História de epopeia brasileira. As bases teóricas de seus estudos são: Semiótica, Crítica Feminista, Mitocrítica e Estudos Culturais. Membro do GT Mulher e Literatura da ANPOLL e do GELIC da UFS.
