The article briefly examines four works considered fundamental for the understanding of the trujillate's novel in Hispanic America, a literary phenomenon that arises from the historical occurrence of the dictatorship of Rafael Leónidas Trujillo in the Dominican Republic. These narratives are based on the fictionalization of the historical period, revealing the problems imposed by the trujillian dictatorship.
