Abstract

Cinematographic language is recognized for its capacity for expression and creativity. Through the creation of the camera, in the exhibition, and of the assembly, in the narration, the narrative of the cinema is constructed. In Vela ao Crucificado, a study of the point of view is able to perceive how the great imagist mobilizes language mechanisms, present in the short film of Frederico Machado, in the construction of a discourse that reveals itself paradoxical.

Estudante de Letras na Universidade Estadual do Maranhão – UEMA – dedicada à pesquisa “Cinema e Literatura em Vela ao Crucificado” para Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso. Bacharel em Direito pela Universidade Federal do Maranhão, Mestranda no Programa de Pós­-Graduação em Cultura e Sociedade da Universidade Federal do Maranhão, PGCULT–UFMA. Participou do Projeto de Extensão “Letras no Cinema”, coordenado pela professora Ms. Maria Sílvia Antunes Furtado, no departa­mento de Letras da UEMA, com duração de um ano, voltado para trabalhos em torno de adaptações cinematográficas de obras literárias.
