Abstract

This paper intends to discuss the presence of Heracles as a character in the Argonautica of Apollonius Rhodius and how it is related to the theme of heroism. The different strategies of describing Jason and Heracles will be compared in a way that we may discern which one would be more adequate to keep the leadership of the crew and be considered the best of the Argonauts.
