Abstract

This article aims to demonstrate the importance of nature in ‘Buriti”, a novel that is part of Corpo de Baile (1965), by Guimarães Rosa. In the description of the landscape, representative images of character traits stand out. Crossing the literary analysis with the critical dialogue, we conclude that the Guimarães Rosa sertão, in its rich imaginary, circumscribes an eroticism that is opposed to the urban rigidity.
