From reflections on allegory, heterotopia, memory, and language, this article establishes some relations between the literary representation of five special places that reflect, in turn, a conceptual relationship with events experienced in the last two decades in countries of the American Southern Cone. Through the reading of some literary scenes focused on these spaces an expedient is sought to promote other possibilities of reading certain mnemonic and political manifestations of the dictatorial past-present circumscribed between the reform of liberalism in the first half of the twentieth century and the emergence of counter-reformist reactionary forces in the following decade.
