The Portuguese versions of the works Satyricon of Petronius and Metamorphoseon of Apuleius, two important milestones in our academic career as a professor of Latin language and literature at UFMG, are characterized as the final result of different translation experiences, in time and in space, not only with regard to the translation process itself, but also with regard to the path that led to the publication of the translations. Our objective in the next pages is to bring to discussion relevant aspects of each of these contexts of production of our work as a translator of a set of works known as 'Latin romance', with emphasis on the (trans)formation of the female voice and perspective in the texts made public.
