This text presents an approach to the novels Enterre seus mortos (2018) and De cada quinhentos uma alma (2021), by the contemporary Brazilian writer Ana Paula Maia, through the intuition that she practices a fabular sensibility towards multiple possibilities of ontological equality generates from the most infamous human beings, who turn rebel some way against the living conditions imposed on them. I argue that Ana Paula Maia performatively activates noir narrative strategies, provoking distortions of any organizin principle. The approching is based on Rancière’s notions of common, equality and distributions of the sensible and Foucault’s ideia of “infamous men”.
