Abstract

This review analyzes As novas infraestruturas produtivas: digitalização do trabalho, e-logística e indústria 4.0, edited by Ricardo Festi and Jörg Nowak and published by Boitempo in 2024. The collection brings together national and international research on contemporary transformations of labor in the context of platformization, artificial intelligence, digital logistics, and Industry 4.0. The book shows that digital technologies do not overcome the contradictions of labor, but reorganize them through new forms of control, precarization, racialization, risk transfer, and intensified exploitation. At the same time, the chapters examine experiences of resistance, collective mobilization, and political recomposition of the working class. The review emphasizes the relevance of the book for labor studies, especially for its articulation of platform economy, subjectivity, education, youth, territory, and new forms of social organization.
