Abstract

Foi intuito deste trabalho, discutir alguns aspectos darelação entre o exercício da cidadania e o fenômeno doconsumo nas sociedades contemporâneas. Constata-se queo simbolismo do consumo acentua a desigualdade e cxclusãosociais, não somente rio Brasil, como no resto do mundo. Eneste enfoque que a crença no consumo acaba por interferir etransformar as atuais opções e formas dc se exercer a cidadania.
