Abstract

This paper presents a historical overview about the origins and evolution of public advocacy in Brazils Empire ant the relations within the political system and the legal and social issues existing at the time. From the creation of positions of prosecutors and attorneys guided by the promoter Lusitanian tradition, until the legal of the institution of a prosecution services in the country, issues such as nomination and distribution of member narrated in the pages of the Official Journal of the Empire of Brazil, associated to other legal and political limitations of his work portrays a peculiar role in the judicial structure of the legal and political system. It is argued that the organization of the institution was given to maintain the power structures in place. It is also argued about the inclusion of the prosecutors and attorneys among the bureaucrats, the core of the imperial political elite to just over half of the century, wich had subsequently been related formation, occupation, career, status, lifestyle, people who played an important role during the formation and consolidation of the civil government at time.
