Abstract

In this article, we intend to present dissonances between socioenvironmental conflicts and land reform in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The idiosyncrasies of the implementation of a Sustainable Development Project (PDS), which was born as an experiment and an achievement of subalternized sectors, becomes, in the case studied, a decision of the State for territorial reordering of the rural community of Sebastião Lan II. As a top-down proposal, without effective participation of the beneficiaries of the land reform policy, we re-present the accumulation of a land dispute, previously formulated by the idea of contradiction between the preservationist paradigm and the practice of family agriculture. We highlight the objective of investigating the constitution of the Legal Reserve as a trail of non-apparent movements of land concentration.
