Epistemic genocides or epistemicides consist on the destruction of knowledge linked to the destruction of human beings. Practices that occurred, according to the literature of Ramón Grosfoguel, between the 14th and 16th centuries did not fall asleep in the past, staying alive and leaving impacts on the present, such as epistemic racism and sexism, on which knowledge and the western university are structured. In this sense, the purpose of this scientific article is to analyze the four types of epistemic genocides that Grosfoguel addresses, based on a bibliographic research, to reinforce the constant presence of a colonial time today, as well as its sequels, especially in Latin America.
