This article addresses the circumstances of border crossing in Latin America as a displacement gap breaking migration control, with the proliferation of recent paths that mark contemporary processes that challenge migration policies. Specifically, it is dedicated to producing quantitative data regarding the individual configurations that are expressed in the representations of migrant practices experienced during preparations, in individual qualifications and in expectations beyond Venezuelan borders. Based on the procedural perspective, the arguments privilege some significant themes relevant to understanding the reasons for migrating, condensed into a broad spectrum. Regarding the methodology, the research group prepared a questionnaire that was applied over four weeks at the Colombian migration control post, followed by tabulation and data crossing. The non-conflictive relationship in controlling the flow of migrants at the border emphasizes the intention of regularization, even though the reality is circumscribed as a migration crisis in the region. The understanding that migrants have of their condition and their aspirations are components of an identification of policies that recognize ongoing practices at the crossing of borders as a movement whose rights have international consent.
