Restorative Justice views conflicts from a perspective different from the retributive approach. In the Brazilian socio-educational system, legislation prioritizes restorative practices or measures. This research aims to explore experiences with the use of Restorative Justice in the units responsible for implementing socio-educational measures in the municipality of Mossoró. The methodology includes an empirical analysis of reports from restorative circles conducted in 2023 by the extension project “Human Rights in Practice” and the application of questionnaires to professionals working in these units. The study examines the perspectives of unit staff regarding restorative practices. Finally, a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the reports produced by facilitators of restorative circles, under the extension project, at the Socio-Educational Service Center (CASE Mossoró) was conducted. The results indicate that restorative practices bring benefits to the socio-educational system but face resistance due to a lack of awareness and systematic development.
