Abstract

Abstract: Throughout his academic career, Correas has remained faithful to his political identity and in solidarity with social causes, has demonstrated his theoretical originality by questioning conventional legal thinking and confronting it with its limitations. He placed himself at the forefront of the philosophy of law and legal sociology in areas such as private, labor, constitutional and indigenous law, as well as human rights and legal argument. Thus, Correas remained Marxist even with neoliberal obscurantism and academic fashions, at times when many turned around and flattened the path to capitalist realism. Faced with partial or biased interpretations of his work, it is essential to defend the identity and critical unity of his theoretical project, in addition to demonstrating the consistency of his thinking and the significance of his legacy.
