CONSTITUTIONALISM AND QUILOMBOS
Abstract
In the text we present the critical historiography of the quilombos as one of the adequate resources for constitutional reconstruction, dimensioning the impacts of black agencies silenced and erased in Brazilian constitutional history. Through a literature review, we discuss how quilombola trajectories intertwine freedom and equality with the experience of access to land. In conclusion, we defend that the quilombo is a constitutional movement permeated by values of autonomy and territorial belonging, currently fundamental to the reinterpretation of fundamental rights.
