Abstract

ABSTRACT
This article, the result of exploratory research, analyzes the impacts of Law 13.415/2017 – the New High School policy – on teaching work. Data obtained from the regular high school level in the state of Rio de Janeiro shows that the NEM intensifies teaching work through generic training tracks, fragments knowledge, and increases the heterogeneity of tasks. This process accentuates the loss of teachers' control over their craft, resulting in overload, symbolic devaluation, and illness.

Keywords: Precarization of teaching. New High School. Teacher malaise. Flexible teacher.
