Around the river-floodplain-forest
Keywords:
Amazon, traditional populations, territorialityAbstract
This is a poem inspired by the work by PORTO-GONÇALVES, Carlos Walter, Amazônia: encruzilhada civilizatória - tensões territoriais em curso, especially in the chapter that expresses the great transformations and capitalist incursions into the Amazon. The poem refers to three elements: rivers, floodplains and forest, which shape occupations in the Amazon at a time when the river commands people's lives, shapes culture and territoriality. In this way, the poem demonstrates the importance of these elements, especially the river, for the spatial configuration and reproduction conditions of the region's populations.
