Abstract

In an interview about new audiovisual flows and audiences in Latin America, Prof. Joseph Straubhaar (University of Texas at Austin) addresses his reflections on the movement of the main players in the global audiovisual market based on his perception of new consumer trends and the recomposition of new productions. It deals with his most recent book From Telenovelas to Netflix: Transnational, Transverse Television in Latin America, from 2021 (not yet published in Brazil) and addresses policies for the audiovisual sector in Latin America around a better understanding of the daily processes of audiovisual production, distribution and consumption.
