Abstract

In these sketches, this thin mini-book, this collection of poems sewn by hand, I designed a gift. The year of 2022 passed and so it happens that in my favorite month of December, on the 10th specifically, was-would be Cássia Eller’s 60th birthday. Being a millennial, some part of me wishes they could give her any fan-inspired gift, one such as those kilometer-long letters we would wrap up around a roll. If I could gift Cássia some words, they would come in the form of poems. Here, in the possibility and urgency of a now-time, I write these words down because I believe every person has a bit of cássia in them. In the slight shyness that flushes one’s face, in the unapologetic will and desire for freedom, in the raspy voice one does not allow any person to hear, in the lust for every drop of life without traces of guilt, domination or doubt. Loving art with no fear. Offering a rendition of one’s own love and delusion. Singing.
