Abstract

The relations between Arts and Sciences have been the object of research developed by scholars with different academic backgrounds, highlighting important questions: How do these relationships materialize in practice? How do they impact on the dialogue with society? Why bring together two fields of knowledge apparently so distant from each other? In this paper we intend to establish seminal reflections on such questions from the “I Olympiad of Science and Art of the Cecierj Foundation”.

Author Biography

Thelma Lopes, Fundação Cecierj

Doutora em Ciências. Mestre em Teatro. Cofundadora do Ciência em Cena/Fiocruz. Lecionou na Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras, ministrou aulas sobre o teatro científico de Bertolt Brecht nas universidades de Évora, Lisboa e Coimbra, Portugal. Estagiou na Citè des Sciences & de l`industrie, pelo Programme Profession Culture. Articulista do Jornal do Brasil, entre 2018 e 2019, produziu textos sobre Arte e Ciência. Coordena o programa Espaços da Ciência, na Fundação Cecierj, e a I Olimpíada de Ciência & Arte da instituição. Autora do livro Do fóssil ao fosso: arte, ciência e empatia, 2020; e coeditora do livro Ciência em cena: teatro no Museu da Vida, 2019. E-mail: tgardair@cecierj.edu.br.
